
VIA has now revealed the latest addition to its ITX motherboard offer - the EPIA N700. This new Nano-ATX board measures just 120 x 120 cm, can be equipped with either a 1.5 GHz C7 or 500 MHz Eden CPU and it features VIA's latest (and, why not, greatest) chipset, the DirectX 9 IGP-packing VX800.
Said to be the lowest profile ITX board eve, the N700, has one SODIMM slot which supports up to 2GB of DDR2-533/667 of RAM, one Ultra-ATA connector and two SATA ports and one Mini PCI slot. The motherboard also has Gigabit Ethernet, High Definition Audio, a VGA connector and two USB 2.0 ports.
"The VIA EPIA N700 Nano-ITX board has been specially developed to excel in space constrained environments while offering an extensive feature set based around the VIA VX800," said Daniel Wu, Vice President, VIA Embedded Platform Division, VIA Technologies.. "Through listening carefully to customers, we're confident that we've made the VIA EPIA N700 as user friendly as possible".
According to VIA, the EPIA N700 is already sampling but will become widely available around mid-September.
