Intel started shipping its first dual-core Atom CPU late last week but it only just officially put a price on its two heads - $43 (in 1000-unit tray quantities). A bit more expensive than previously expected, the Atom 330 is still $1 cheaper than the netbook-specific N270 model which is also clocked at 1.6 GHz but just one core (two threads though).

Featuring a 533 MHz FSB and 1 MB of L2 cache, the 45nm-built Atom 330 is to be used in nettops and a few hotter but not very expensive netbooks.
