Falling a little behind the likes of Samsung and Toshiba, Micron is now planning to introduce its 256GB RealSSD C200 solid state drive in Q1 2009. Previously slated to enter production in Q4 2008, the 2.5-inch 256GB SSD has a SATA 3.0 Gbps and makes use of MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash chips.

The high-capacity RealSSD is said to offer read and write speeds of up to 250 MB/s and 100 MB/s respectively. The drive's price tag has yet to be revealed.
