The number one motherboard manufacturer, Asus, has announced that it will be ready for AMD's upcoming 45nm-built AM3 processor with no less than 8 (eight) M4 series boards. Set to feature a new 8-phase power design for a more stability with or without overclocking, the motherboards will come with the EPU power management technology, and Turbo Key, a function which enables users to transform the PC power button into a button for instant overclocking.
Asus' M4 line-up includes motherboards powered by both AMD - 790FX, 790GX, 780G, and Nvidia chipsets - nForce 980a SLI(it may be a typo), 750a SLI and GeForce 8300, which have support for either DDR2 or DDR3 memory up to 2000 MHz, come with up to four PCI-Express x16 slots and boast 5/6 SATA ports, Gigabit Ethernet and 7.1 channel audio.
Since AMD has only today released the AM2+ Phenom II CPUs and the AM3 parts are still some weeks away, the M4 line-up is also "upcoming" with the exception of the M4A79 Deluxe and M4A78 PRO which are listed in Europe and priced at €158.73 and €89.59 respectively.
