
Since it doesn't plan on giving AMD any breathing room, Intel is now reported to be working on some new mobile processors with which to target ultra-thin notebooks. Priced between netbooks and 'regular' notebooks, the ultra-thin machines, like the
HP Pavilion dv2 are receiving a lot of interest from AMD (and its Athlon Neo single-core CPU) but Intel will also get in the game with CPUs that come in a 22 x 22 mm packaging, the same one used for the chips used in Apple's MacBook Air.
The new Intel processors are said to be based on its current ULV (ultra-low voltage) products and feature a TDP of under 10W. No word on clocks or availability but since the Athlon Neos will come about around the beginning of Q2, Intel's offerings will surely be released close to them.
