Announced as being at the base of Apacer's SSD+ Optimizer, the HyperFast technology has now been officially unveiled by its maker, Diskeeper Corporation. Said to be the "the first-ever optimizer exclusively designed for faster performance and extended lifespan of solid state drives (SSDs)," HyperFast is a software that works on the operating system level and eliminates performance-degrading free space fragmentation thus reducing erase-write cycles, and optimizes the free space so as to help deliver better overall performance.

As seen in the chart below, Diskeeper's tests have shown that, with HyperFast, an 8GB Apacer SATA SSD experiences performance improvements of 5.9x faster reads, 19.5x faster writes, 3.9x faster random reads, and 9x faster random writes. HyperFast is available with Diskeeper 2009 but, just like Apacer, companies should be able to license it for use with SSDs, netbooks, notebooks, etc.
