As recently revealed by its maker, the Core i7-loving X58 chip will soon be moving from the current B-2 stepping to B-3. The conversion is required by the fact that Intel has made some design changes to the chipset's IOH component and will need customers to do a re-qualification.

The B-3 X58 silicon will start being sent out to board manufacturers on April 10.
