Proving that it can be faster than even itself, Pretec has just announced a 16GB CompactFlash card bearing a 433x speed rating. Taking the gold medal from Pretec's 333x model, the new CF card makes use of SLC (single-level cell) NAND flash memory to deliver read and write speeds of 65 MB/s and 50 MB/s.

Targeting photographers, the 16GB 433x card is currently sampling and will become available next month. No word on pricing though.
