After taking a fistful of Skittles, Dell has went on to introduce new Inspiron slim and mini-tower desktop PCs targeting people who like the colors of the rainbow. Starting at just $299, the systems are available in eight vibrant colors Piano Black, Pure White, True Blue, Formula Red, Tangerine Orange, Spring Green, Plum Purple and Promise Pink and are set to be used for a wide variety of tasks, from email, to Internet, blogging, entertainment (movies, music and casual gaming) and productivity.

"Customers are given complete control in choosing processors, form factors and colors to build an Inspiron desktop that's high in function and style. There's versatility to customize a system that fits into everyone’s lifestyle and budget," said John Terwilliger, director, consumer desktop product marketing.

Spec wise, the compact desktops can be equipped with anything from Intel Celeron, Core 2 Duo or Quad, to AMD Sempron, Athlon X2 or Phenom X4 processors, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 750 GB (slim tower models) or 1TB (mid-tower) of storage space, Intel integrated graphics or Radeon discrete graphics cards, and DVD or Blu-Ray optical drives.

For starters, the colorful Inspiron slim and mini-tower desktops are only available in China but will be shipping worldwide later this spring.
