Lite-On Europe has now introduced the iHES208 internal Blu-Ray combo drive. Seen below, the new optical drive has a SATA interface, 2MB of buffer memory, support for LightScribe technology, and provides a top read speed of 8x for Blu-Ray discs, and write speeds of 16x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-RW/+RW and DVD-R/+R DL, 48x for CD-R and 32x for CD-RW.

"The iHES208 is a great solution for those looking for the advanced technologies of Blu-ray in home entertainment," said Christine Hsing, Marketing Manager at PLDS (Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions). "The drive will not only allow them to play high-definition content such as Blu-ray movies, it will also let them easily share data files, presentations, home videos and other image files on DVDs or CDs."

According to Lite-On, the iHES208 will start shipping in Europe this month and cost about 169 Euro.
