NAND-less storage device maker Seagate has now revealed the Replica, a backup appliance that's set to simplify the way users keep their data safe. Featuring a secsy, curvy silver casing, the Replica measures 142.6 x 101.28 x 18.2 mm and weights about 260 grams, has USB 2.0 connectivity, comes in two versions for single (250GB storage space) and multi-PC (500GB, comes bundled with a dock) use and packs a hard drive with a working speed of 5400 RPM.
"While people continue to amass digital content, many still don't understand the importance of backing up their libraries of personal memories, or they don't take the time," says Terry Cunningham, senior vice president, Seagate Branded Solutions. "Our goal is to deliver solutions that provide thorough backup protection yet are easy to use, time-efficient and simple to understand, and the Seagate Replica is about as easy as it gets."
Backed by a 5-year warranty, the 250GB and 500GB Replica drives will become available next month at about $129.99 and $199.99 respectively.
