
Just when worries of fiery laptops started to fade away, HP has went on to issue a recall of about 70,000 batteries that were sold in the US together with various notebook models (listed below) or separately from August 2007 to March 2008. According to
HP, the issue with the China-made lithium-ion batteries is that of overheating which, in terms could lead to fires and potentially injuries to users. The company admitted to known of two reports of batteries that have overheated and ruptured, thankfully, without harming anyone.
Those who have one of the batteries in the recall can ask for a free replacement.
