Serving up more graphics power for embedded applications from casino and arcade gaming to digital signage, AMD has now revealed the DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.0-supporting ATI Radeon E4690 GPU. Said to have 3x the performance of AMD's previous generation embedded GPUs, the Radeon E4690 is manufactured using 55nm process technology, has 320 Stream Processors, a 128-bit memory interface, and the 2.0 Unified Video Decoder.
"The ATI Radeon E4690 sets a new bar for embedded graphics performance," said Richard Jaenicke, director of embedded graphics at AMD. "Blazingly fast graphics and HD video capabilities enhance the appeal of applications - such as arcade, casino, digital signage and more. With the industry's only embedded graphics chip that offers DirectX 10.1 and UVD 2.0 support, the ATI Radeon E4690 enables competitive advantages for AMD’s embedded customers."
The Radeon E4690 features a core clock of 600 MHz and 512MB of GDDR3 memory @ 700 MHz, and even supports CrossFireX.
