
With
two more dual-core CPUs added to its offer, AMD has taken a few minutes today to also announce a new ATI product, the Theater HD 750 PC TV chip, which is said to offer HDTV viewing for both desktop and notebook PCs. The new silicon comes with support for ATSC, DVB-T, Clear-QAM digital TV and PAL, SECAM, NTSC analog TV support, boasts both video processing and signal reception technologies, FM and DVB-T radio, but has to settle for software MPEG encoding.
"ATI Theater HD 750 combines AMD's longstanding reputation for video expertise with consumer demand for a cost effective, easy to use and high quality TV on the PC experience," said Matt Skynner, Vice President & General Manager, GPU Division, AMD Products Group. "ATI Theater HD 750, in combination with ATI Radeon graphics and AMD mobile technology-based notebooks, provides a simplified, high-quality home-theater solution."
According to its maker, the ATI Theater HD 750 will become available later this year within internal and external TV tuners.
