Nvidia's Tegra SoC is expected to make its debut this September in the Zune HD but
as confirmed by the Santa Clara GeForce maker and breaker, the chip will truly show its potential later on this year powering a netbook. The first Tegra-equipped netbook is likely to be the 8.9-inch Mobinova-built model seen earlier this month at Computex which weights 836 grams, has a fanless design, WiFi and 3G connectivity and is said to provide 5 to 10 hours of HD video playback or up to 24 days of audio playback (with a closed display).
Nvidia expects the Tegra netbook to become available around or on Black Friday, and cost about $200. Consumers should be able to get it even cheaper or for free from mobile carriers with a two-year mobile broadband plan. Wait for it...
