South Korean memory manufacturer Hynix Semiconductor has today announced its latest mobile-oriented offering, a 4Gb mobile DDR SDRAM. Supporting the Intel Moorestown MID (Mobile Internet Device) platform, the new chip comes in MCP (Multi Chip Package) and PoP (Package on Package) versions, has an operating sped of 400 Mbps, and can process up to 1.6 GB of data per second.

Targeting both MIDs, netbooks and smartphones, the 4Gb mobile DDR will enter mass production later this quarter.
