Already tested out by a few sites, Corsair's biggest flash drive yet, the 128GB Voyager GT, has now been officially announced. Seen below, the literally beefy (102 x 39 x 18 mm) drive has a rugged rubber coating providing water and shock resistance, a USB 2.0 interface, MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory and a dual-controller design which enables it to deliver read and write speeds of up to 32 and 28 MB/s, respectively.
"High performance is a key requirement for super-high capacity flash drives, such as the 128GB Voyager GT, simply because it is able to store such a large volume of data," said John Beekley, the VP of Applications at Corsair. "The 128GB Voyager GT is nearly twice as fast as other high-capacity flash drives, which means less time waiting for your music, video or office files to copy to and from the drive."
Backed by a 10-year warranty, the 128GB Voyager GT drive is listed in Europe with price tags starting at
303 Euro.
