Lite-On has now announced a new addition to its line-up of slim, external optical drives, the eTAU108 DVD writer. Aimed to be used with portable machines without an ODD, the upcoming, top-loading drive weights under 350 grams, comes with a pearl white or piano black finish, has a USB connection interface, and provides write speeds of up to 8x for DVD-R/+R and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-R/+R DL, 5x for DVD-RAM, and 24X for CD-R/RW.

The eTAU108 is expected to start selling next month for about 45 Euro.
