San Jose-based Super Talent has now introduced the UltraDrive DX line of co-branded Toshiba solid state drives. The new 2.5-inch drives come in 64, 128, 256 and 512GB capacities, have MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory chips, and feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF of over 1 million hours, 128MB of cache memory, and maximum read/write speeds of 230/180 MB/s.

The SSDs also have support for password protection and make use of hardware (automatic) data randomization technology for extra safety.

"As the first Toshiba co-branded SSD on the market, UltraDrive DX features a Toshiba controller and Toshiba's MLC NAND flash memories. The DX provides best-in-class security and reliability features combined with cutting edge performance in both read and write speeds," said Super Talent Director of Marketing, Joe James.

The 64, 128, 256 and 512GB UltraDrive DX will become available this week at $219, $439, $719 and $1649, respectively.
