Samsung has just announced that its 23-inch XL2370 Touch of Color LCD monitor, which has been available in South Korea and Europe since summer, is going to become available in the US as of October 12 (from Best Buy). The sleek widescreen has a matte black finish and a crystal-like acrylic neck, it makes use of LED backlighting and features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 2ms response time, and a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

"This monitor will definitely set a new standard for this category. Samsung is taking its monitors to the next level by creating a high end monitor with a sharp design. It has an amazing picture quality that our high-end users appreciate at a price that our cost conscious consumers also like," said Doug Albregts, vice president, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America.

According to its maker, the XL2370 will sell in the US for $299.
