Taking on the increasingly-popular netbook, HP has today presented the Compaq Presario CQ61z, a 15.6-inch laptop that will be available at $399 between October 18 and December 19. Seen below, the new Compaq features a native screen resolution of 1366x768 pixels, a 2.0 GHz AMD Sempron M100 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, AMD Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics, and a DVD writer.

The Presario CQ61z also packs a 5-in-1 card reader, Altec Lansing speakers, a 6-cell battery, a D-Sub output and comes with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. Looks like a pretty good deal, we're just not sure about the CPU power and battery life.
