Acer has just revealed a new Windows 7-loaded Aspire laptop, but not just any laptop, one that features the TriDef 3D solution which includes a 3D screen, software and 3D polarizer eyeglasses to enable 3D visuals. TriDef provides users with the option to switch from 2D viewing to 3D with just one click and it works for videos, photos, as well as games and apps supporting DirectX 9 and above.

Dubbed Aspire 5738DG, this 3D notebook has a Gemstone design and boasts a 15.6-inch CineCrystal HD (1366x768) 3D screen, a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo T6600, 4GB of RAM, a Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card with 512MB of memory, a 320GB hard drive, and an 8x DVD writer.

"This holiday season, we are seeing 3D content become more prevalent in popular films and games," said Ray Sawall, senior manager of product marketing for Acer America. "The new Acer Aspire 5738DG notebook enables consumers to enjoy exciting new 3D entertainment on a mobile PC that can also replicate a 3D experience from standard 2D content. This product upholds Acer's strong tradition of combining innovation with value by delivering leading-edge technology at an affordable price that makes it accessible to the average consumer."

Acer's laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and also features a multi card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, a built-in webcam, a multi-gesture touchpad, and a 6-cell 4400 mAh battery. The Aspire 5738DG is shipping this week with a starting price tag of $780.
