Vigorously set on expanding its product offer, Creative has confirmed that it prepping to get in the ebook reader ring with something called the MediaBook. The upcoming device will boast a touchscreen, and besides the ebook reader features, will provide media capabilities like photo viewing, video playback and radio, so as to differentiate itself from Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Reader an other current offers.

The MediaBook will also have an SD card slot for extra storage and will most likely have 3G and/or WiFi connectivity. The reader will be based on Creative's Zii platform which makes use of the StemCell Computing technology.
