Gigabyte is keen on continuing to pour P55-based motherboards into the channel and the latest model prepped by the Taiwanese company can be seen below. Branded 'P55-Extreme', the product will likely end up being called P55-UD7 like its
X58 sibling but the interesting thing about it isn't the name. Where to start... well, for one, it has a beefy, intricate cooling system with a waterblock placed on top of a PLX bridge chip which provides extra PCIe lanes for the added USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0 Gbps ports.
Gigabyte's board also has an Nvidia NF200 chip for more PCIe lanes to the three PCI-Express x16 slots enabling 3-way SLI and CrossFireX, it supports LGA 1156 processors, has four DDR3 memory slots, and has six SATA 3.0 and four SATA 6.0 Gbps (the white ones) ports.
The upcoming motherboard also packs two eSATA and two USB 3.0 connectors, dual Gigabit Ethernet, integrated 7.1 channel audio, a FireWire port, and a debut LED. If everything goes well the P55-Extreme / P55-UD7 should hit stores in time for the holiday season.
