Updates from inside Microsoft have dug up the latest in product schedule roadmaps this weekend - an image that could point toward Microsoft's next operating system release (codenamed 'Windows 8' for now) gracing us as soon as 2012.

This information could very well be accurate, following a 3 year product cycle that fits with Windows 7.

The roadmap is clear about the targeted date and does not try to hide the code name. Little else is known about the OS other than its targeted date of release.
