Hey people, my name is Paddy and I am a total newbie to programming...
My problem is Trying to install vb6, I obtained the file/s from a friend and I have my product key. I have never seen a program laid out in such a way and have no clue how to install it any help would be appreciated.
I cannot upload a screenshot for some reason?
But if anyone is interested in helping me I can tell you the visual basic 6 folder is laid out in winrar files titled "Visual.Basic_6.0.part01" right up until part24 then a file entitled "Visual.Basic_6.0.sfv".
If you are on msn messenger I can send you the screenshot if need be.

this is called a split archive, this is to usually done to fit large files on floppy disks and such
what you need is Winrar and to select the first file usually the original file is called .rar and then part1 /..2 ...3 are after that
you need to select a directory to unpack the .rar file to and all the other parts will follow after you unpack the .rar file as the rar file holds the key info that it is a split archive,
.svf is the rar library file

Thank you for taking the time out to help me :-)
I dont seem to have the .rar file that you're talking about, they all end in .part1,2,3.....24
And so on.
the only other file is that .sfv???

i don't think you can unpack them without the original rar file
unless your sposed to recombine the parts into the rar file which is possible

.SVF appears to be a file used by the program Smart Version archiver, try googling smart version and try using it to unpack it

Just open any partX file with WINRAR.. so for example part1.
Open it and extract it, sometimes people dont use *.rar just part1, part2, part3 etc!!!
Try it and see what happens.. normally its possible to unpack it without any problems!

the *.rar is the main index file which contains the main library,.. without it you can't determine whether you have the full archive
