I'm using a usb hard drive for my backup data...
which version of Ghost do you have? I googled around a bit and saw that the v10 version (I guess that's the most recent one) has a feature where you can have system events trigger your backups,... in theory that sounds quite intriguing, I have to say;)

if you have v10 and have tried that triggering feature maybe you could post a few words about it, like can it be triggered by any event at all or only specific ones (I know shutdown and startup are supported events but dunno what else might possibly work)
