It seems Microsoft estimates a 10 to 15 % performance drop when using Vista but it still feels confident in its new OS.

Gone are the days when people recommended Windows 98 as being the best for games as in this case Vista has an ace up its sleeve - DirectX10. The new API will only run on Vista and will force everyone wanting to play a DX10 game to switch to the new OS. Now that's 'good' marketing.
