Hey.

I am writing to tell the TechConnect community about Qnext, an incredible P2P client that combines the best of instant messaging, social networking, video & voice over IP, and P2P file sharing. Totally free to use and download with no malware, spyware or adware.

Qnext currently offers a single free P2P application with Universal IM (Qnext, MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ & IRC), photo sharing, video conferencing, voice over IP, drag and drop file transfers, online games, file sharing and remote PC access.

You can create photo & file sharing zones on your computer that are accesible only by other friends on a permission-basis. It's like you are able to build your own secure private network, while still connected into public IM clients. How cool is that?

All of the services are Java plug-ins that “hang-off the P2P core. There are dozens of new services in the pipe including music streaming, application sharing, online games, productivity tools, etc.

You get all of the functionality of IM product, but with capabilities that go far beyond what can be achieved by any other “presence-enabled product. You can not only talk to your personal contacts by placing a video or voice call, you can securely transfer a file of any size and set-up shared folders and photo sharing sections that are accessible only on a permission-basis.

Everything is 192 bit encrypted and true P2P and no server ever touches a packet of data.

You can download Qnext for free at Qnext website link

PC Mag says "Qnext is the most powerful IM product on the market"...and my favorite review is from Messaging Pipeline that says "You could say that Qnext is an instant messaging client -- but that's like saying that Bill Gates has some money and that Gwyneth Paltrow is female."

Hey Michiel,

Yes, we are the developers of the product. Don't worries, I won't be hyping the product on the board. It's just a very cool app that I think the board members would be interested in.

If you check us out, I would love any feedback and suggestions for improvement. We are really putting in an effort to listen to the Qnext users and address their wish list for creating the best IM/P2P Sharing network.

I also did want to mention that we are always going to keep the Qnext client as a free product to use. Any premium or fee-based services that we add next year will be above and beyond the core functionality of what you get with Qnext. Things like Universal IM, Video & Audio, File Transfers, Photo Sharing, File Sharing & Games will always be free.

Thanks for the kind words.

Here is a scoop for board members. We have a really cool service coming for Qnext called Share Application. What it will allow you to do is to share any application(s) on your desktop with complete security.

Here is the basics:
- You turn on the Share Application functionality in Qnext
- You create a guest username and password (can be turned on/off anytime)
- You configure the application to allow the guest to use or just view your application(s)
- You send a link to your guest with their username and password

What is really cool is that it is 100% secure with 512 bit user authentication. You could use this type of service to collaborate on an application....or to show a PowerPoint presentation....or to do a product demo.

The application appears in a browser window and the rest of your desktop is "greyed-out" and not visible or accessible to the guest.

Look for this service to be deployed in Qnext in the next month.
