USB Mouserate Switcher modifies the system file "usbport.sys" in order to enforce a certain polling rate.
Unfortunately, the modified file applies to all connected USB devices, so it also enforces a polling rate to your headset.

Try enforcing 500 Hz or 250 Hz and if the headset does not support any one of them, go back to 125 Hz (restore original file).

I'm sorry to tell you that, but there is no other way of doing this.

isnt there a way, if you say that only HID Devices like mouse or keyboard get the 500Mhz and other components like digital cameras, scanners or headsets get the default polling rate?

i really like that precision of the mouse, so i won't miss that :X

the latest usbport.sys is 5.1.2600.2891 but the switcher fails to find a valid sequence in the file mellow.gif
I can either stick with the new file or use a previous one, but i'd prefer to fix this new one if possible, I've attached the newest usbport file to this post if anyone can have a shot at it?Click to view attachment

Yes, the project is indeed dead.

Hi,

I've been looking for a way to update my usb rate but it looks like the latest version of usbport.sys (v5.1.2600.2993) can't be patched through traditional means. I was wondering if you were to udpate your patcher or if using an older file (eg v5.1.2600.2180) was harmless (since a lot of other files regarding usb were also updated).

Thanks
kaneda
