Yahoo are hoping to increase the number of users of their free email service by upping the storage capacity from 250MB to an even gigabyte.
Next month users of Yahoo's free email service will receive 1 gigabyte of space. The news is sure to please those who love receiving gigantic photos and files but who, until now, have never quite been able to accommodate the attachments.
The upgrades will come free of charge, along with new security software for privacy protection which, until now, was only available with its paid service.
Yahoo's expansion comes as a direct result of Google's new Gmail service. With MSN following suit as well, the 1 gigabyte free-mail looks set to be an industry standard.
