The system dir for x64 is:
SystemRoot%\SysWOW64

I´ve also included the one lokated in:
SystemRoot%\System32 in case it differs from the one you´ve got

I´ve included the files in my previous link.

Really appreciate your work!

thx

Must be these two:

%SystemRoot%\Driver Cache\i386 (driver32.cab)

%SystemRoot%\Driver Cache\amd64 (driver.cab)

I believe there will be a huge intrest as soon as everyday gamers will move over to x64.

I´ve tried the x64 edtion for some time now, and I really like it. Its not a amazing difference, but it feels solid somehow even thouh I dont use much 64bit apps.

If its okey for you, can I post the 500Hz usbport.sys in other forums to get some more feedback? I will ofcourse inform them about the EXPERIMENTAL status of it.

Thanks for your help anir

Unfortunely many gamers won't be moving over to X64 edition just yet

as i have just been informed that many games will not run under it

it gives a not compatible with this version of windows message

Counter-Strike works darn good, enough for me wink.gif

Hey anir

The poor drivers from ATI made me go crazy and went back to x86 Windows (texture corruption when tabing from CS to win). Also the lack of TV-card drivers for my Leadtek Expert where killing me. So I actually havn´t tried it myself yet. But as soon as I get myself together and install x64 edition again, I will try it.

I´ve posted threads in a couple different forums, but the usersupport have been weak.

Do the modified files work?

They work excellent ! biggrin.gif

Thanx!!

I had to copy usbport.sys from safemode, but thats a no brainer so smile.gif

I use xp64 for all my gaming now, I really like it, except one really annoying issue with punkbuster.... it kicks me out of servers with the message "blocked OS privilieges", this is a know issue with punkbuster on xp 64. They are working on it, but they could have been quicker.

Hello.
I have tried to get this to work, but i cant seem to put the usbport.sys into the driver.cab.
I go into safemode but it wont let me paste it in.
Is there any other way to do it?
gechu
hey blunty

You dont have to place the file inside of a .cab file. Simply put it in syswow64 folder, but strangly enough cant I find the default usbport.sys in that dir, but my memory tells me that was the dir.

Why dont you try it, not much can go wrong with a missplaced file like that file wink.gif

hi anir

inside

C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\amd64 there is a driver.cab file which inside it contains a usbport.sys

i have made some progress i think

i now have a patched copy of usbport.sys in

C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\amd64\driver.cab file

C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

and C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\Drivers

previously when i only had a patched copy of usbport.sys in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

and C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\Drivers

when i booted up the mouse wouldnt power up at all, even if i unplugged and replugged it in

now with 4 different copys of that file it boots

However, when i run the mouse rate running its still locked at 125

i think the C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\amd64\driver.cab file is replacing the others is there a way of deleting the usbport.sys out of the cab file or replacing it with the patched one?

or do i need to do something to turn off windows file protection?

im lost sorry

Thanks for all the help so far
